Strategic Priorities
A participatory and adaptive ecosystem approach is applied to the management of multiple human activities occurring in the coastal-marine zone:
- Compile and synthesize the information available on environmental conditions, human activities and use conflicts in determined marine regions.
- Support the determination of baselines on the status of marine resources under human use, as well as the socioeconomic conditions of the associated human populations.
- Set biological and socioeconomic indicators for monitoring the environmental and economic sustainability of activities that have an impact on marine resources.
- Produce maps, documents and audiovisual content that will be useful in governance and policy decision-making processes related to marine spatial planning and resource management.
- Generate alternative scenarios that will help visualize the consequences of specific changes in specific human activities on the health of the sea and the impacts on the interests of the users and the communities.
