• Raise awareness about the importance of the sea and its resources and generate a critical and responsible attitude with respect to coastal and marine biodiversity and sustainable resource use.

•  Provide users of the sea, and especially politicians and opinion leaders, with timely, reliable and systematized information about the technical and scientific elements for decision making related to the regulation of human activities in the sea.

•  Generate public debate and promote the active participation of citizens and their organizations around the problem and potential of the sea.
