For the purpose of promoting a consciousness favorable to coastal and marine resources, the Communications Program forms partnerships with consumers, administrators and users of marine resources, offering clear and timely information about MarViva’s work for Marine Spatial Planning and promoting their active participation in local processes.
A differentiated strategy has been designed for local and national level interest groups for the purpose of strengthening governance processes and stakeholder participation, the participatory production of media and messages, and the dissemination of MarViva’s actions for the formulation of management plans in the Gulf of Tribugá, the promotion of best fishing practices and the commitment of stakeholders in the implementation of agreements.
Through the construction and emission of messages surrounding the importance of the sea and its resources and the strategies used in the organization for the regulation of human activities in the sea, the press office has designed plans with the different communications media to make its management more effective and to position MarViva on the national public agenda.
By means of the national press, we are building a network of media and journalist allies for the dissemination of the messages and the creation of public awareness about the sea through interviews with MarViva experts, media trips, and the dissemination of audiovisual products that relate the work being done with local communities regarding the topics of interest.
