The structure of the MarViva Foundation consists of three programs: Political Advocacy, Communications, and Science and Communities. The objectives of these programs are:

1. Political Advocacy. Promoting the creation of spaces for discussion and harmonization oriented toward generating and implementing agreements, policies and standards for Marine Spatial Planning.

2. Communications. Raising awareness in diverse audiences about the importance of regulating human activities in the sea, through the promotion of changes in the values, attitudes and behavior of sea users. This is achieved through media campaigns and educational events.

3. Science and Communities. Supplying technical-scientific information in a format suitable for use in marine planning decision-making processes. Fostering coastal community strengthening to achieve the active participation of their leaders in spaces for discussion regarding marine planning, as well as their insertion into national markets through the development and consolidation of local value chains based on marine products or services.
